Technical Writer (f/m/d)

  • Hybrid
    • Leipzig, Germany

Job description

Great products deserve great documentation.

At Peopleware, we’ve been developing innovative cloud-based workforce management (WFM) software for over 30 years. But building great software is only half the equation — it also needs to be understood, adopted, and used with confidence. And that’s where our Technical Writers come in.

Our Help Center — the central source of technical documentation for our SaaS solutions — is a core part of the product experience, and our Technical Writing team makes sure it helps users get the most out of our software.

This content-focused Technical Writer (f/m/d) role, based in Leipzig (hybrid setup), is ideal for someone who enjoys writing and sees the bigger picture of how documentation is built and maintained.

What you’ll do:

  • Create high-quality documentation: You develop informative and concise Help Center content for technical and non-technical audiences — all in a modern Docs-as-Code environment.

  • Improve structure and consistency: You help shape our information architecture, maintain our style guide, and continuously raise the quality and clarity of our documentation.

  • Optimize documentation workflows: You evaluate and improve how we create, review, and publish content to ensure efficiency and high standards.

  • Collaborate across teams: As part of the product organization, you are deeply integrated into the release process. You work closely with product managers, designers, developers, and support teams to ensure our product documentation is coherent and comprehensive.

Job requirements

What you bring to the role:

  • Excellent English language proficiency: You have C2-level written and spoken English skills, as our product documentation is created entirely in English.

  • Technical writing expertise: You bring several years of experience in technical writing, particularly in software documentation. And you know how to explain complex technical topics in a way that’s easy to understand.

  • Proficiency with Docs-as-Code: You have hands-on experience with modern Docs-as-Code principles, workflows, and tools.

  • Familiarity with structured content: You have basic knowledge of structured content principles or component content management.

  • Openness to AI: You’re keen to explore and implement pragmatic AI technologies that can effectively support authors and improve our documentation workflow.

What we offer:

  • Benefits: A hybrid working model, 30 days holiday, job bike, public transport ticket or free parking, company pension scheme, corporate benefits program, high-end IT equipment (including MacBook).

  • Feel-good atmosphere: This includes a state-of-the-art office in Leipzig’s Karli Street, free full catering (breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks), team and company events.

  • Flexibility: Do you need to adjust your working hours (part-time/full-time) or take time out (sabbatical) because your life situation has changed? If we are a match, we make many things possible.

  • Creative freedom: Bring your ideas to the table! We give you plenty of freedom for your creative development.

  • Individual development: Our employees’ personal growth is significant to us. So if you're not just looking for a job, but opportunities to develop further, you've come to the right place.

  • Further training: Constantly broaden your horizons! At our open spaces, workshops and conferences, in-house meet-ups and events, or learning from mistakes.

  • Onboarding: Your direct colleagues will provide you with comprehensive training and are always on hand to answer your questions.

  • ... and lots more.
